Someone Waits For You

Budweiser, a beer company known for their famous Clydesdales and beer wagon, has also recently become known for a series of Super Bowl advertisements featuring Budweiser Clydesdales and their canine friends. This ad also features a dog, but in a different and not as lighthearted context. While it is common practice to include a “Please drink responsibly” disclaimer at the end of every alcohol ad, it is less common for an alcoholic beverage company to actually acknowledge the dangers of irresponsible alcohol consumption instead of offering a vague warning. This ad focuses on the very real dangers of drunk driving, playing on the audience’s emotions to drive the point home. Everyone knows how dangerous and illegal drunk driving is, but most don’t stop to think how it might affect the four-legged members of the family. Like the infamous Sarach McLachlan ASPCA ads, this ad tackles a serious subject by aiming to leave no eye dry.
